with a leaf stuck on it what does this make you think of? Right
it makes you thinks of a kite the kite has been defined as an
object with a string flying in the sky by the means of the power
of the wind. Now lets take a look at the origin of kites. According
to the old tale there was once a farmer in China whose bamboo
hat with a string tied to it was blown off by the wind and thus
it flew off to the sky.
Another
story said that a man saw a leaf stuck on gossamer flying with
the wind. There is still another tale that said Han Xin the
founding heroes of the Han dynasty used giant kites in the battle
against Xiang Yu troops in Kai Sha. These kites were equipped
with whistles and strings and when they flew over the enemy's
camp at night they produced Erie sounds. But the seizing forces
also sang the enemies own folk songs the song and the sounds
of the kites greatly surprised the enemies who were thus overcome
by nostalgia. Thanks to the use of kites Han Sha troops won
an overwhelming victory. According to historical records emperor
Wu of Liang as an S-O-S call used kites. However in this story
the kites were shot down and did not perform the mission. Not
long afterwards Tai-cheng fell and emperor Wu of Liang starved
to death leaving us this kite story. If kites were invited about
the time of the battle of Shu and Han then kites are over 2180
years old. About sixty years ago kite flying was a popular recreation
among Chinese farmers during their leisure time. So many people
were flying kites that the kites frequently became entangled
together and very often disputes followed. The looser in the
disputes were usually required to apologize by hiring a dramatic
troop to entertain the villagers. Later people engaged in kite
fights the one whose kite was shot down was required to entertain
the villagers in the same way. The people of one village would
exert there utmost to improve there kite design and structures
so as to defeat there rivals. After Taiwan's war of restoration
against the Japanese, kite flying again became popular people
at that time would go to the open countryside to fly their kites.
In
Taiwan there is a saying how kites fill the sky during autumn.
When flying a kite people can appreciate the wonders of nature
and this can call to mind their childhood memories. People are
especially satisfied when they see kites, which they have made
themselves flying high in the sky with the wind.
