Jhenmu, whose real name is Jhu Jhenyuan, came from the Shaoxing County in Zhejiang
Province. The dates of his birth and death are unknown. He worked as a clerk in the
telephone exchange in Tianjin in the mid-20s. And his leisure pursuits, painting and
engraving seals, won him a good reputation. He started writing wusia novels in the
late-20s, after he was influenced by his colleague Huanjhu Loujhu. His first book Tieban
Tongpa Lu did not attract readers, then he learned the suspenseful writing style of Gu
Mingdao's works. Eventually he became famous; and his works include Cisha Bei, Husiao
Longyin, Manku Fongyun and Cianshou Guanyin.
The story, Husiao Longyin, talks about a group of sia from
the martial arts circle who always wanted to overthrow the Cing and bring back the Ming
Dynasty. So they organized a troop to assist the army of the Taiping Tianguo. However the
self-centered leader of Taiping Tianguo, Hong Sioucyuan, did not take their advice. So
this group of sia, gave up their plans and disappeared like a puff of wind. |
