When he is informed that the outlaw circle of gangs, lyulin, are going to elect a new chairperson to lead them against the well-established Schools of the martial arts circle, he makes up his mind to stop them. Unpredictably he is elected to become the gang's new leader, so he sets up rules to forbid and prevent his followers from committing crimes.

      Surely the senior gang members will challenge his policies, and the Schools also want to execute him. He dismissed a scheme to assassinate members of the Schools managed by the seniors. Nevertheless he was killed in an accident by disciples of the Wudang School, and his properties were soon taken by the senior gang members.

      The story line now turns to Hu Boling's beautiful widow Gu Hansiang; she vows to avenge her husband. Her task is difficult because her enemies are both the gangs and the Schools' circles. She changes her name to Honghua Gongjhu and remarries to a single-eyed freak in order to learn more powerful wugong. She soon murders her new husband after he is used up. Then she plots to regain the position as the chairperson of the gangs, which Hu Boling had before he died. She successfully won over the gangs by using her physical power and wugong, she also applied drugs to control her followers.

      Her next plan is to learn more precious wugong to defeat the well-established Schools. So she left for the aged hermit Sanmiao Shusheng. She survived an ambush by senior gang leaders and eventually learned undefeatable wugong from the one hundred and sixty-year-old Sanmiao Shusheng to whom she promised that she would not kill more than four people from then on.

      When she returned home, a violent battle between the gangs and the Schools' circles started. In order to obey her commitment she motivated both sides to massacre each other. She herself slays the two seniors of the Wudang School who killed her husband, and by mistake she seriously injures a respectable master whom she called "Sir", and then he died. When the battle came to an end she committed suicide.

      This story was written by Wolong Sheng and Yi Rong. It develops smoothly and clearly. When the main character changes from Hu Boling to his widow Gu Hansiang and started a new episode, readers surprisingly find that it is a different story because females are usually less important than males in the other wusia novels. Nevertheless, this book is excellent not only because of the dramatic changes of personality of the female protagonist, but also because it is suspenseful.
