Bahuang Longshe

A family called Chai got involved with a political assassination. They hosted a righteous demoted official, before long they were raided by the subordinates of the devious official Yan Song. A martial arts master rescued them, then they decided to move to live with their relatives in a remote mountain area, but their ten-year-old son Chai Jhe refused to leave. Later on Chai Jhe was adopted by Syu Fang, a vice-leader of an evil gang called Heiyinghui. This gang trained talented young men to become contract killers to kill people for the money paid by their customers. Chai Jhe learned wugong, never complained, and waited for the day when he grew up, so he could avenge his family.

When Chai Jhe was sixteen, he was given an assignment by the leader of the Heiyinghui gang to guide five senior gang members, including the leader's son, to a non-Chinese region to kill three ex-members of the gang and their three-would-be victims. Chai knew the tribe's language and their customs, so he could be the interpreter. He solved many problems, although the son of the gang chair, Duanmu Changfong, was a hopeless troublemaker.

Chai became a good friend of an enterprising Chinese immigrant family called Fei. The father of the family wanted to marry his daughter Fei Yunsheng to this young man. However Duanmu Yingyang, the gang's leader also came to this region, and when his son told him that Chai actually did not do the "right" thing, Chai was in danger.

Chai almost died when Duanmu Yingyang tried to take his life. Then several martial arts masters rescued him, and he also learned more powerful wugong from them. Later on with the company of Fei Yunsheng, he went back to his hometown, and then took his family to relocate in the same area in which Fei Yunsheng's family was living.

A great amount of gold and treasure caused Chai to return to the Central Plains. This fortune was a bribe, which the devious official Yan Song gave to Prince Yi, because Yan needed help. Yan at the moment was under investigation for his corruption and all his wrong doings. Everyone in the martial arts circle wanted to get this fortune. The Heiyinghui gang, which was controlled by Yan Song then, kidnapped Fei Yunsheng to force Chai to work for them. Chai, with the help of his friends, successfully rescued his wife, and unexpectedly gained the treasure.

At the end of this story Chai Jhe persuaded his master teacher Syu Fang to reveal all the wrong doings of Yan Song he knew. Yan Song and his subordinates got what they deserved. Chai Jhe returned to the remote region to keep helping the Chinese and non-Chinese to achieve the eternal harmony.

There are many exotic references appearing in the book apart from it suspenseful episodes. The non-Chinese people include many minority tribes in southwest China and the Mongolian herding families. The realistic background, which the author creates, makes his books outstanding.
