The title of this book is the female protagonist's name.
She massacred all the members of the wugong institute, Yueyang Men, to avenge her mistress
teacher Shui Hongshao. Shui Hongshao was disfigured by the head of Yueyang Men Sian Bing
who was her boy friend at that time. Sian Bing was under his peers' pressure to do so,
because Shui Hongshao was extremely pretty and she used her face as a weapon and had done
many bad things. So this time she not only asked her disciple, Gan Shihjiumei, to kill
Sian Bing and Sian Bing's disciples, she also wanted Gan to kill Sian's peers including Mi
Ruyan, Fan Jhongsiu and their disciples. The only survivor of Yueyang
Men, Yin Jianping, was given an assignment to learn wugong and to warn Mi and Fan.
Yin arrived at Mi's place first. Mi was not an easy-going person so his disciples all
left. Mi had a guest, Yan Chulei, and he became good friends with Yin. However when Gan
finally came, Mi and Yan were all killed. Yin, wearing a mask, tried to ambush her but was
badly injured. Fortunately he was rescued by a wugong mistress and he also learned
powerful wugong from her. So his wugong improved dramatically.
Yin sent a message to Fan on one hand and searched for Gan on the other. When he came
across Gan in an Inn he planned to make friend with her firsts. Gan trusted him because
until then she had never seen Yin's real face. Yin found out that Gand was actually a very
lonely girl and they even fell in love with each other.
Before long Yin arrived at Fan's estate Yinsindian. Standing on Fan's side, he asked Gan
to leave until the Mid-moon festival, then he walked away to learn more powerful wugong.
After many tough battles Gan was tired; she planed to lead a hermit live. But her mistress
teacher Shui Hongshao came on the scene. She was joining this battle herself. When the
time is up Yin was too strong for Shui Hongshao. After Shui was killed Yin also killed
Gan, then he committed suicide because he was in love with Gan but he had to avenge his
master and his fellow classmates.
It was a very interesting novel. Apart from the love story between the hero and heroin and
the tragic ending, the wugong, which emphasized the power of illusions and shadows,
invented in this book is also fascinating. |
