Wang Zeyuan, known by his penname, Gao Yong, was born in Xichong County, Sichuan Province in 1932. He loves reading. After he retired from the military he ran a book-renting store, and started writing wusia novels. He used the penname, Linghu Syuan, in the beginning and published his first novel Jiusyuan Shengong and later on books including Sieying Ren, Canjian Gusing, Siujian Shouma. Before long he changed his penname to Gao Yong and sent his novel Gantian Lu to a fiction writing contest held by Damei Publisher. He won the jiazuo prize and then he became a professional writer. Before he stopped writing in 1976, he wrote about 20 novels. Tianlong Jyuan was the best among these books because of its satirical content.

Tianlong Jyuan

The protagonist of this story, Jiang Tao, an orphaned young man, following his master's suggestion, went to visit a martial arts master named Guyue Daojhang; then his adventure started. He did not go to Guyue Daojhang's place straight away but responded a job offered by the gang, Tiansin Jiao. Tiansin Jiao was hiring people who knew Sanskrit to translate works in their headquarters, and Jiang Tao was qualified.

After he arrived at the headquarters and began doing his job, he fell in love with Yan Ling, a disciple of the head of Tiansin Jiao. By chance he found out that Guyue Daojhang and many other martial arts masters were controlled by Tiansin Jiao, and he even noticed that Mei Jianhong, the son of the head of Tiansin Jiao, seemed to have some connection with his family. Later on he realized that the material he was translating was in fact a secret wugong book. He decided not to let the Tiansin Jiao know the contents of the material, so he intentionally slowed down his pace of translation. He finally ran away from there, when he got help from Yan Guangfu.

As soon as Jiang found out that Yan's real purpose was to gain the wugong recorded in the Sanskrit book but not to help him, he escaped. After a deep contemplation Jiang decided to publish the wugong book which had caused so many troubles. When the printing work was proceeding, Jiang met Bai Yinfong, head of the wugong institute Tianlong Men. Bai yielded the position to Jiang and said to him that this wugong book was a section of Tainlong Jyuan, which belonged to his institute. Before long the vice-head of Tiansin Jiao, pretending to be Bai Yinfong's ex-girlfriend, arrived. She took over the Tainlong Jyuan and killed Bai Yinfong.

Guyue Daojhang had told Jiang Tao that he could find his family by visiting Hongshih Bao, so Jiang took a trip there. They told him that the old man he met in Tiansin Jiao was a close family member of his, so he planned to return secretly to Tiansin Jiao. However the arrival of the head of Tiansin Jiao to Hongshih Bao changed Jiang's plan, so instead of looking for his missing family he turned to practice wugong on the mountain top, Yuhuang Ding, which was Bai Yinfong's wish before Bai died.

Yan Guanfu schemed to gain a pair of swords from Jiang Tao. He even kidnapped both Luo Siaomei, a girl from Hongshih Bao, and Mei Jianhong as hostages to be exchanged for the swords. Jiang Tao carried the swords to meet Yan Guanfu. In this mission Jiang fell off a cliff and was rescued by an old man. From him Jiang realized that his father was detained in Tainlong Jyuan.

The decisive battle took place in the headquarters of Tiansin Jiao, and this evil place was destroyed. Jiang Tao could finally have a family reunion with his father, and was able to get together with Yan Ling. Mei Jianhong had a reunion with his half-sister Luo Siaomei.

To publish a secret wugong book was a unique episode hardly found in other wusia novels. The characters of this book are also vividly described.
