The Future of Wusia Games

At the end of 1999, Softstar launched the latest, 'The Royal Sword ¢».' This work has gorgeous art design, and the picturesque scenes for the background span from China to Europe. Together with its justified fame, this work caused a new trend in making wusia games with splendid pictures.

1999 also saw a special new game called 'Jiang Hu' produced by WAEI. It offers players with a world of the vagabond life like other wusia games do, but there is not any ultimate mission for the player nor any prince of devils. The player becomes a vagabond swordsman, and adventures in the fictitious world occur as one so desires. It seems that there is no powerful script to support the player, but it will probably be one of the main game trends in the future.

Without a master script, it means that the player has to create his own adventure story and to experience the vagabond life according to his own wish. Furthermore, it seems that WAEI is going to expand its games to the internet, so one can play this kind of game with others through the web. Players can play the role of themselves, talk to other swordsmen, and create their own adventure. It's a new domain worthy of our expectation.
