Ching dynasty was a Manchu empire after taking over the Manchu
forced the Hans to shave their heads and ware Manchu style clothing.
Millions of Han's were killed over this but finally the Manchu’s
compromised over this by stipulating Man must ware Manchu style

The
dress code for Manchu men was quite complex. This is what the
formal headdress was like it was decorated with a gem on the
top that was used to distinguish the official rank of the warier.

In china the emperor clothing was often decorated with the dragon
design. It had always appeared together with other designs.
In the Ching dynasty however the son of heaven chose the dragon
as the symbol of his position and had his clothe decorated all

was first coined.
Ching
dynasty accessories were very distinctive not long after a child
was born a lock shape gold or jade amulet was put around his
neck to ward off evil and to lock in his life. And there was
a bag that held spending money a towel and a name chalk.
When
they were riding or hunting with a bow and arrow Manchu men
would carry things to use on the journey. Like scissors a cutting
knife fire tongs a kind of pipe. These were also essential gifts
when the man got married.
Women's
clothing is divided into the Han and Manchu style clothing.
Han women still wore traditional attire such as short over garment
skirt patted jacket or trousers. They wore their hair in a high
bun but fringes were new in the chin dynasty.
Manchu
women preferred a tall and slim look so they usually wore a
long pal and wore their hair in a small bun. Later it was fashionable
to ware a small flat board decorated with flowers made from
gold or silver threat. The shoes worn by women were very striking.
These are hairpins and other ornaments worn by noble women they
are inlayed with expensive gems like imperial jade coral pears
or white jade.
Manchu
women felt that long fingernails were a status symbol they protected
them with fingernail covers that were finely carved and inlayed
with gold silver and gem.
