In ancient times Jhushan was called 'Shan -zaidou' which
means 'village srrounded by mountains'. The village originally belonged to the Bi clan,
and its history spans over six hundred years.
lies in a depression in the mountains at the confluence of many rivers, with its
orientation roughly following the shape of the valley. Because of the natural restrictions
of the location, there are very few large scale buildings. It has a special feature in
that it conforms to the geomantic rule of placing the ancestral homes behind the temple.
