Jhushan Old Homestead

In ancient times Jhushan was called 'Shan -zaidou' which means 'village srrounded by mountains'. The village originally belonged to the Bi clan, and its history spans over six hundred years.

Jhushan village lies in a depression in the mountains at the confluence of many rivers, with its orientation roughly following the shape of the valley. Because of the natural restrictions of the location, there are very few large scale buildings. It has a special feature in that it conforms to the geomantic rule of placing the ancestral homes behind the temple.
