Haiyin Temple

Religious activities have been held at this ancient temple, found on Taiwu Mountain, all the way from the Song dynasty to the present. At the beginning of the first month of every year there is a special Taoist festival, lasting several days, in which people ascend the mountain to pay their respects to the gods at the temple.

The temple's history can be traced all the way back to the Song dynasty. In the Wanli reign (1573-1620) of the Ming dynasty a large-scale project was undertaken to renovate the building and to build an extension. For seven hundred years the faithful have come to worship here, and men of letters have shown their devotion through countless poems.
