Siyue Temple and Beiyue Temple

Siyue Temple can be found in Shansi Village, and was constructed for the faithful of the village by people like Li Jhong-Syong, Li Tian-Lai and the overseas Chinese Li Guo-Cin. It was completed in 1985, and is the only pagoda-style temple in Kinmen. It is dedicated to the god Beiyue, various raja (spirits of Buddhism), sage rulers, sea gods and a variety of other deities. There is also another Yue shrine in Kinmen, in the northern part of the island, called Beiyue.
