Yangmingshan National Park is a wonderful place for hiking, mountain climbing, and many recreational activities.

●Information
Traffic:The traffic control will be in effect on the main road to Yangmingshan on weekends throughout the festival. The best way to travel there is to take a bus. 1) Shuttle buses for the flower festival will be available at Taipei Station. 2) From Taipei, city buses to the park include Nos. 260, Red 5, and mini buses 6, 9, 15 and 508. Highway buses serving the Taipei-Chinshan route also pass through the park.and stop at several places within it. 3) By car on weekdays, driving through the interchange of Chungchin N. Road, passing Bailing Bridge, Chungcheng Road, and taking the road of Yangteh Boulevard to Yangmingshan, then following the signs to get Hoshan Park, about 13.5 km in total.

●Origin
Yangmingshan National Park is the only national park in the northern part of Taiwan. It covers a wide range of area, about 11,455 hectares, with the volcano groups of Mt. Chishing and Mt. Datun as the center, Mt. Huangzuei and Mt. Wuchih siturated in the east, Mt. Mientien and Mt. Hunglu in the west, Mt. Chutzu and Tudigungling area in the north, and Mt. Shamao down in the south. Many scenic sites are included, such as Sulphur Valley, Siaoyoukeng, Lengshuikeng, and Datun Nature Park, etc. It is an ideal place for medium and small wild animals, various species of plants and flowers, hot springs, and orchards. All the rich resources and scenic beauties provide the public a wonderful place for hiking, mountain climbing, and many recreational activities.


●Activities
The spring flower season for Mt Chishing of Yangmingshan is divided into three periods by the sequence of different blossoms: the first period falls on the New Year holidays, it is the time for the plum blossoms and camellias; the second period in mid. of February to end of March is hosted by Taipei City Government, the colorful blossoms of Feihan cherries (Prunus Campanulata), Azaleas, apricot flowers are all around at this time; the third period starts at the end of April and lasts until May, it is the time for various rhododendrons. The flower festival draws huge numbers of visitors traveling to the mountain to enjoy the blossoms.
