●Origin
Pihsia Temple in Yilan is also called as "
Yueh Wu-mu Wang Temple." It mainly worships Yueh Fei. In 1896 (the second year after Taiwan being ceded to Japan), jinsi Yang Shi-fang suggested to build a temple to worship Yeuh Fei to educate the people with loyalty, family respect, morale, and honor. Later, in 1899, he sought the proper address for building the temple. Then, the construction work began. In order not to allow the Japanese suspected his motives, he called it Pihsia Temple from the line "pishietanshin wanhsiahsio" (watching the dusk and dawn with loyal and courageous hearts). The Yueh Wang worshipped in the temple comes in three different ranks, general, lords, and kings. In addition, there are the statues of his parents, teachers, friends, and the generals. Pihsia Temple is one of the few temples that worship Yueh Fei in Taiwan. On February 15 of the Lunar Calendar each year, it is Yueh Fei's birthday. The grandest ancient decorum of Sanhsien Shitien, worshipping Yeuh ceremony, and martial art dance are performed. In addition, its disciple system is rather rare in Taiwan.

●Activities
As there are not many worshippers go the Pihsia Temple, they employ a volunteer disciple system. His students will regard Yueh Fei as master and learn to be loyal to the country after him. This system emphasizes much on dedication. Before each disciple is allowed into the temple, they have to undergo severe evaluation before joining the academy.
