Spread throughout Taiwan, there are about 150 indigenous people's rituals, which are held regularly or irregularly in accordance with their traditions. In each of the rituals, there are different cultural characters of different tribes or clans. They are the most attractive facets in the traditional culture of Taiwan. It has been people focus concerning the indigenous people's age, class, and clan system, and the relations between these rituals and everyday life (especially with tillage and hunting).
The seasonal or annual rituals of the indigenous people reflect the cultural meanings of their religions, beliefs, and lifestyles. Concerning the traditional rituals of Taiwan's indigenous people, they are mostly centered on ancestral spirits' rituals, adulthood rituals, hunting rituals, good harvest rituals, etc. In addition, they may be endeavoring towards the goals of thanksgiving, requesting for good fortune, survival training, consolidating the people's hearts, etc. Although the society of Taiwan is highly modernized, the seasonal or annual rituals are still celebrated by every indigenous tribe, becoming the major spiritual symbols of the indigenous people's traditional culture.
